2nd Annual Mini-Golf Tournament PDF Print E-mail

The The Stoneham Public Schools foundation will host it’s Second Annual Miniature Golf Tournament this, Saturday 9/20, at Hago Harringtons Miniature Golf, 160 Main St Stoneham, MA 02180.  The first round starts at 9am with a second at 10am and the final round starting around 11am.  The entry fee is $10 per person per round with prizes for the lowest three scores after each round.  Ties will be broken by random drawing.  Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase along with many great raffles.  The event will be held sunshine or no sunshine  but will be canceled until spring if it is raining to heavy.

During the 25th Annual Town Day Stoneham Public Schools Foundation gave the kids a chance to cast their vote for the next President of the United States.    While it was a close vote the Obama/Biden ticket came out on top with 48% of the 84 votes cast while McCain/Palin captured 41.7 % of the vote..

 The following is the vote breakdown.

35 McCain/Palin  (41.7%)
  7 Hanna Montana (8.3%)

SPSF Funds Spring Intramurals and 2 AEDs PDF Print E-mail

The Stoneham Public Schools Foundation recently presented a check for $5,600 to the School Committee.  $3,600 is to fund the Spring Intramural program at the Middle School while $2,000 helped provide two AED's (Automated External Defibrillator) for the Middle School.  This was the result of an Eagle Scout project, by Chris Gardner, which helped to place 2 AED's in each of Stoneham's six public schools.

2nd Annual Road Race Runs its Course PDF Print E-mail

The 2nd Annual Stoneham Public Schools Foundation Road Race had a great day and a great turn out.  With over a 150 Runners, Race Walkers and Walkers there was some fun for everybody.  The event starts with a Kids run at 8:30 and with the Main Race starting a 9am.  Craig Fram was the first runner to cross the finish line with a time of 16 minutes 37.3 second, a new race record.

Foundation Presents Check for Winter Intramurals PDF Print E-mail

The Foundation recently presented a check to the School Department for $3,600 to fund Intramural sports at the Middle School.  This was the first year the Middle School has had an intramural program since 2005.  The Foundation has also committed to fund the program for this spring as well as the coming fall season.
